Model United Nations students will be gift wrapping at Borders books on Dec 1 & 8 for donations.

Advisory Board meets at 5 pm Wed Dec 5 with Parent Forum following at 6:30 pm in the Library. Denise & Siri will share internet safety information.
Bring the kids 6-9:30 pm Fri Dec 7 for an evening exploring African activities with our secondary travel intensive students in the MPR for $20 + $10 for each additional child. This is a great chance to help with fundraising and have a fun night out for elementary students with a parents’ night out.
The next Parent Forum meeting will be held on December 5th at 6:30 in the school library.
Included on the agenda will be a presentation from Principal Denise and Siri highlighting some of the technology that is in use to help keep our children safe while on the Internet. This is a must see for all those who want more information on how to work towards a solution to make the Internet a safe and secure tool.

The Discovery Ski Program bus to Alyeska Resort on Sundays January 13, 20, & 27 is from Polaris. Students can sign-up for a variety of ski options including half-day lessons. Mural comments are requested for Corey’s graphing template in the MPR hallway and Casey’s mural between Becky’s and Siri’s rooms. A minimum of 20 comments from students, staff, faculty, and parents are desired to ensure the community feedback on “public” art. Submit them in the red box in the Art Room.

Drama club presents “The Dining Room” at 7 pm WThF Nov 14-16 in the MPR. See 35 student actors playing 75 characters in 20 scenes. $3 at the door.
Career & College Day is Fri afternoon Nov 16. 6th graders visit UAA, 9th graders visit APU, and 7/8/10/11/12 have a choice of many sectionals on the Polaris campus. Review the packet with your student to see all the interesting choices!
This is American Education Week with Principal Appreciation Day Fri Nov 16. Reflect on the multitude of ways parents can be a positive influence for children and schools in the “100 Ways” PTA pamphlet given out at student-led conferences last week.

Congratulations to Region IV all-around gymnastics champanion for her third consecutive year–Eryn–and Swim meet finalists–Celia & Kallie! Kallie qualified for the senior sectional 100 backstroke in Washington State in the Spring.
Do you like to read new books? Then this volunteer opportunity if for you! We have been able to aquire 35 new books free, with one stipulation; that we review them. There is a wide range of types including picture, nonfiction, and teen literature. All you need to do it read a book and then respond to a short review form. It’s that easy! Please stop by the library to see what we have for review.
