Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff members who made Friday’s Ice Social such a celebratory gathering to start off the 2007-08 school year!
Welcome to new staff: 4/5 Teacher Bonnie, Librarian Audrey, Math Teacher Jan, Tammy in safety & security!
Parents, come one & all to the Library at 3:30 pm on Thursday August 30 for a brief meeting to elect officers and approve a budget for Parent Forum. Your involvement is vital in the Polaris community and all parents are automatically members of the Parent Forum. Contact PF Chair Diana Ede at ouac@gci.net to nominate yourself or someone else for Advisory Board.
Monday September 3 is a school holiday.
On Tuesday September 4, secondary students come to school only during their assigned registration time. Look over the detailed packet sent home this week through Intensives with your student. In summary, 11th and 12th graders come 8:30-9:15, 9th and 10th graders 9:15-10:45, 8th graders 10:50-12:00, 7th graders 12:45-1:40, and 6th graders 1:45-3:00.
Please park vehicles in designated spaces when unattended even “just for a few minutes.”
Noon duties are needed to work (for pay) 11:15-12:45 all days. This is a great part-time job for parents. ASD Superintendent Carol Comeau’s first position was as a noon duty!
Interested in carpooling from Peters Creek, Birchwood/Chugiak, or Eagle River? Contact parent Donna Newkirk at 317-7542.
Send information for the future editions of Polaris News to Kitte’ at mvh@gci.net by Tuesday.
