�Get the official ASD and school calendars below, as well as the events calendar on the right sidebar.

� Thank you to Geoff Wright and Beth Adams for the website development. A group will be meeting soon to continue improvements. Ideas are welcome!

� The final Summertime Fun no-host picnic will be in the Habitat & playground on Wednesday August 16 at noon. All helping hands to pull & bag invasive weeds are urged to join Nancy & Elisha with gloves at 1 pm.

� The Back to School Picnic will be in the Habitat Friday, August 18th from 5:30-8 pm. Bring a salad, side dish or dessert. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks provided. BBQ grillers & shoppers contact cathyalaska@yahoo.com.

� School starts at 8:15-3 (elementary) and 8:30-3 (secondary) on Tuesday, August 22. Help keep the traffic lanes moving safely by having your children prepared to hop out on the curb, or plan to park in the lot and walk them in. Plan some extra time and patience for these days of adjustment.

� A parent-led Orientation, Tea & Tour geared especially to welcome new parents will be Wednesday August 23 at 8:30am in the MPR.

� Orientation for New Secondary Students & their Parents with teachers Kathryn & Joe will be 6-7 pm on Monday, August 28.

� If you can help right and replant some tipped spruce trees along the back fence of the Habitat, please contact Jim at jjhazzy@yahoo.com.

� Remember to stay off the newly hydroseeded grass.

� Return your Parent Forum Directory form ASAP to expedite communications. Parent involvement is vital to the mission of Polaris K-12. Thank you for volunteering your time & talents!

Volunteer Job Descriptions

**Polaris K-12 School Volunteer Information**

Below is a brief description of the volunteer tasks available . Please use this information as a guideline in making your decision on how you will contribute your time & talents in the 2006/07 school year. Your help is needed for a successful school.

**Parent Forum Secretary**: A parent is needed to take minutes at the six meetings this year and help with running the non-profit corporation with other Parent Forum officers. Time commitment approximately 10 hours per month.

**Parent Forum Meeting Attendees**: Parents are needed to attend meetings and to set the budget, policies, and guidelines. Meetings are scheduled for Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on September 26, October 24, November 28, January 30, February 27, and April 10. Meetings last between 1 and 2 hours.

�Registration will be at Polaris Tues Aug 8, Wed Aug 9, and Thurs Aug 10 between 8-11 am and 12-3 pm. One set of registration forms was mailed to each household. Extras will be available at school, or you can make copies.

�Thank you, Margaret and Germaine, for improving the process. This is the first registration in our new building and the first on-site since 2002. Smile, take your time, & think how you�ll miss *the good old days* when it�s online.

�Fall Intensives (7-12 graders) are filled on a first come, first serve, in person basis starting August 8 at 8 am. Other paperwork must be turned in first.
